Science Project

March 9, 2018 •

This term in Science we have been learning about Heat, including Temperature, insulators and conductors. We are starting a project tomorrow designing and building a solar oven to make s’mores. The goal of this project is that the students can create a solar oven that will cook a s’more in the given time period (about an hour). We are starting with the planning process and then next week will be building the solar oven. Weather pending we will be attempting to make s’mores in our ovens on either Thursday or Friday. If you have any spare cardboard boxes that are big enough to fit 2-3 graham crackers for s’mores, but not too large, (Shoe boxes or clean pizza boxes would be good examples) could you please send them into school as soon as possible?  Also, If you have any spare tinfoil or saran wrap that we could use in the building of our ovens that would be great as well.

Thanks!

Mrs Smith
