What is W.O.W.?

W.O.W. stands for Work On Writing. It is our silent, independent writing time.

Why W.O.W.?

We Work On Writing in order to become better writers. We don’t just want to be better writers on assignments that we have to do for school, but we also want to develop the skills to be good writers on our own too! That is why it is so important to me to give you opportunities to work on authentic writing projects – ones that you really want to do!

How do we do W.O.W.?

W.O.W.  is part of our Literacy Workshop block.  You have the option to choose what writing assignment you would like to work on. There will be a list of possible writing assignments on the W.O.W. board and on your checklist for you to choose from. Make sure you complete all assignments that are due each week before working on free choice writing tasks.
